To be able to keep shows in repertoire, Bruvvers operates an ensemble company. We also take on guest performers and musicians as necessary. Members of the current company have been working together for years, and all members live and work in the North East:
Judi has had a long and varied career in stage, TV and film across the country. Performances include Granada TV’s Distant Shores, A Nightingale Sang in Eldon Square, Smack Family Robinson, The One And Only and Charlie’s Trousers.
Dorothy is a professional singer and actress. She runs the Northern Academy of Dramatic Arts in Sunderland, encouraging young talent. Performances outside of Bruvvers include Byker Grove and Catherine Cookson’s Rag Nymph.
Steve trained at Newcastle Polytechnic and has appeared in many TV and film projects, including Emmerdale, The Bill, Byker Grove, Steel River Blues, and Northern Stage’s 1984, The Threepenny Opera, and The Princess and the Goblin.
Ancient founder of Bruvvers. A Byker born and bred Cockney, Mike trained at East 15, and studied with Joan Littlewood. Mike has appeared in most of Bruvvers shows over 36 years. He acquired Bruvvers’ home base at 36 Lime Street over 20 years ago. Performances outside of Bruvvers include Andorra and TV’s The Machine-Gunners.

If you wish to submit a resume for us to keep on file, please send an A4 photograph and a brief resume with a covering letter to: Bruvvers, Level 5, 36 Lime Street, Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2PQ. Please note that we audition infrequently, and generally favour actors with musical ability, although this is not always necessary.
